Biomass Commodities Corporation has the experience and knowledge to assist clients with many heating system requirements. Once installed BCC will guarantee a supply of wood pellets to the facility, offering dependable, regular and affordable service.
Founded by Averill Cook, the company is headquartered in Williamstown, MA.
Mr. Cook is a 1976 graduate of the University of Vermont. He received a BS in Environmental Studies in the School of Natural Resources (Forestry). Mr. Cook operated a 6,000-tap maple syrup operation, provided forestry services and contract agricultural services throughout the region. During this time he served on the Massachusetts Maple Board of directors and chaired the Town of Williamstown forestry committee.
In 1990 he founded Catamount Pellet Fuel Corporation, after 10 years of successful operation he sold the company. During this time he served two terms as president of the Pellet Fuels Institute in Arlington, Virginia. He travelled extensively through Scandinavia and Europe to determine how the industry was developing there. He wrote research papers for the Bioenergy Conference in Buffalo, New York in 1990 and for the International Pellet conference in Stockholm, Sweden in 2000. He served on the Massachusetts Biomass Working Group.
In 2004 Mr. Cook launched Wendling Farm Bioenergy Consulting, providing advisory services throughout the Pellet Industry. His consulting offerings range from market research to feasibility studies, to the design, installation and operation of pellet manufacturing plants
In 2006, he started Biomass Commodities Corporation, a vertically integrated renewable energy provider.
